Common Questions

Do I need a panel upgrade?

Most homes with 200A panels have room for a 40-60A EV circuit. If your panel is 100A or full, we can upgrade it as part of the install. We'll know after the free assessment.

How long does installation take?

Typical install is 3-4 hours for a straightforward run. If a panel upgrade is needed, add a day. Permit processing takes 1-2 weeks depending on the city.

Can I install the charger in my garage?

Yes — garage wall mounts are the most common. We can also install outside on an exterior wall, or on a pedestal in the driveway.

What about NEMA 14-50 outlets vs hardwired?

We can do either. Hardwired is cleaner and required by some chargers. A NEMA 14-50 outlet gives you flexibility to swap chargers later. Both meet code.

Do you install Tesla Wall Connectors?

Yes. We install Tesla Wall Connectors, ChargePoint, Wallbox, Emporia, Grizzl-E, Lectron, JuiceBox, and any other UL-listed charger.

What's the PG&E EV rate?

PG&E's EV-2A rate gives you cheap overnight charging (~$0.26/kWh from midnight to 3pm). Your smart charger can auto-schedule to charge during these hours.
